Autocross - Wednesday and Thursday, July 24 and 25

Do you think you are a good driver?  Put your skills to the test during the annual Porsche Parade Autocross competition!

Autocross is a performance driving event, where you navigate your car through a course of soft orange traffic pylons, trying to be faster than your competition.  As you navigate the autocross course, you will learn about your car’s braking, acceleration, braking, and corning abilities.  Events are typically run at speeds at 40-65 mph and usually in second gear.  Autocross is great way to gain confidence in your driving ability!

The 2019 Porsche Parade Autocross will take place at the Palm Beach International Raceway.  For a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to drive at this famed destination, Parade Autocross is a must.

Parade Autocross takes place on Wednesday and Thursday.  Autocross participants should set aside time on Tuesday afternoon for the Autocross Chalk Talk and course walk.  During the time, drivers will be given an opportunity to analyze the course, as well as a chance to learn tips and techniques.

Registered Junior Participation Program (JPP) members, ages 16-17, and College Age Family Program (CAFP) members, ages 18-25, with a valid driver’s license, may participate in the Autocross in the same Porsche and same class as their parent(s).

All Porsches entered in the Autocross must pass Parade Safety Inspection.

Safety/Tech Inspection

Autocross is one of our most popular Parade events. It’s a fun event with a challenging course. Keeping everyone safe is an important part of autocross.

Safety and tech inspections are required for all autocross participants. Inspections will check all items listed on the PCA Safety Inspection Form, including wheels, wheel torque, tires, brakes, battery, fluid levels, fluid leaks, belts, and safety gear. Autocross participants are responsible for ensuring their car can pass all items on the Safety Inspection Form prior to their autocross inspection time.

If a car or safety gear cannot pass the safety inspection, the participant will not be allowed to enter the autocross grid. If an issue is identified with a participant’s vehicle or safety gear during autocross, they will be moved off-grid until the the issue is fixed.

Please review the Autocross Safety Tech Inspection Form for a complete list of safety requirements.
