Autocross - Wednesday and Thursday, July 24 and 25

Autocross Course Video

Do you think you are a good driver?  Put your skills to the test during the annual Porsche Parade Autocross competition!

Autocross is a performance driving event, where you navigate your car through a course of soft orange traffic pylons, trying to be faster than your competition.  As you navigate the autocross course, you will learn about your car’s braking, acceleration, braking, and corning abilities.  Events are typically run at speeds at 40-65 mph and usually in second gear.  Autocross is great way to gain confidence in your driving ability!

The 2019 Porsche Parade Autocross will take place at the Palm Beach International Raceway.  For a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to drive at this famed destination, Parade Autocross is a must.

Parade Autocross takes place on Wednesday and Thursday.  Autocross participants should set aside time on Tuesday afternoon for the Autocross Chalk Talk and course walk.  During the time, drivers will be given an opportunity to analyze the course, as well as a chance to learn tips and techniques.

Safety/Tech Inspection

Autocross is one of our most popular Parade events. It’s a fun event with a challenging course. Keeping everyone safe is an important part of autocross.

This year the club will be performing Safety Inspection the morning and afternoon of the autocross at the autocross site and on the grid. Please prepare your vehicle prior to grid, if there is an issue with the participant’s vehicle or safety gear they will be moved off grid to fix the issue.

There will be four time slots for Safety Inspections at the autocross site:
Wednesday 7:00am to 9:00am & 11:00am to 2:00pm.
Thursday 7:00am to 9:00am & 11:00am to 2:00pm.

All vehicle Safety Inspections will be done at the autocross site prior to your run group. Again, I can’t emphasize this more, Please have your vehicle ready for safety inspection prior to staging your vehicle for the autocross. Safety Inspection Volunteers will check wheel torque, safety gear, wheel, tires, brakes, battery, fluid levels and any fluid leaks, belts and the other items listed on the Safety Inspection Form. Participants are responsible for all item on the Safety Inspection Form prior to the autocross.

(This year we will not be handing out the Safety Tech Form, please provide online form for participates to download, read or print. I will have 15 to 20 Safety Tech Forms laminated so that the volunteers have something to check off as they perform the inspection. Once the inspection is done a Safety Tech Sticker is applied to the top left of the windshield indicating the vehicle has passed Safety Tech Inspection).
